France Cohortes provides cohorts with a package of tools and services hosted on an information system platform that enables them to combine data collection and processing in a secure manner.

The tools provided are compliant with the European General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD).

France Cohortes offers cohorts support in the data collection phase, using tools to create and manage survey campaigns via online questionnaires.

The variables and descriptions in the questionnaires are automatically taken into account in the documentation associated with the data, providing researchers high-quality data.

Data processing

France Cohortes offers tools and support to the cohorts' data managers and biostatisticians to facilitate the processing and the availability of data.

The platfom allows:

  • compliance with the security guidelines of the National Health Data System (SNDS) and Health Data Warehouses (EDS),
  • the utilisation of a different workspaces with data compartmentalisation as required by regulations
  • the employment of open documentable and reproducible tools as part of the FAIR approach,
  • the use of the most popular tools based on open languages (Julia, Python, R) and formats (Greenplum, S3 objects),
  • the application of tools that manage big data and artificial intelligence,
  • the linkage of the cohort's data with medico-administrative or environmental databases,
  • the use data visualisation tools,

This support is part of a FAIR approach to open data, designed to make research data easy to find, accessible, interoperable and reusable.
